ANtietam battle
The Antietam battle started on September 17, 1862 near Sharpsburg, Maryland, when The Army of Potomac, under the command of George McClellan did a series of powerful assaults against Robert E. Lee's forces. This was the single most bloodies days in military history that ended with a draw, but the Confederate retreated and that gave Abraham Lincoln the "victory" he wanted before issuing the Emancipation Proclamation. The Emancipation Proclamation was an order from Abraham Lincoln on January 1,1836 that freed the slaves in the ten states that we're still in rebellion. There were 22,717 death's in the Antietam war. There were 87,000 soldiers in the Union, and 45,000 soldiers in the Confederate.In the Union was a total of 9,540 wounded, 2,108 killed,5,365 missing & captured, 23,049 total
GettysburG battle
This was Virginia's second evasion of the north, Lee wanted to collect supplies and take away war from Virginia. Confederate Gen.Robert E. Lee had his army fixed on Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, on July 1. Confederates drove Union defenders to Cemetery Hill in Gettysburg. The next day Lee struck the Union and fighting broke out at the Devil's Den, Little Round Top, the Wheat field, Peach Orchard, Culp's Hill and east Cemetery Hill. On the morning of July 4th fighting erupted at Culp's Hill the Union regaining lost ground, that afternoon Lee attacked the center on Cemetery ridge but failed with many losses. His second attack on the north had failed. There were 51,000 death's in the Gettysburg battle. There were 14,529 wounded, 3,155 killed. This was Virginia's second evasion of the north
chancEllorville battle
This battle started when General Joseph Hooker did the crossing of Rappahannock and put himself in a vulnerable place, in Robert E. Lee's hands. Lee wanted to attack hooker while he was still in his reach. Late in May 1, 1836 Lee and Jackson made up and evil plan and Jackson with an army of 30,000, they would follow a route to the Unions and start there attack there. On May 2, 1836 Lee and Jackson attacked on Hooke's army but it ended with Jackson wounded then death. On May 3, 1836 Lee continued his attack on Hooke, Lee toke one Hooke's army back to a Salem church that threatened the south of his ford. Robert E. Lee's victory is one of his greatest to be said. There were 24,000 death's in the Chancellorville battle.
